This talk will explore the concept of sustainability, which is often used superficially, at the risk of losing its true meaning.
In fact, sustainability is not a passing fad nor can it be reduced to simple remedies such as, for example, offsetting CO2 emissions. Instead, it must be integrated into every strategy: from environmental to social and economic, taking into account the benefits to the visiting and resident population.
Among the topics covered are that of greenwashing, which misleads consumers and harms genuine efforts, and the myth of so-called "zero-impact travel." All this leads to the presentation of concrete, truly effective actions to reduce the environmental impact of travel, support local economies and adopt responsible behavior.
Because sustainability requires awareness. And real concrete action.
