There is no work. There is too much work. They pay very little. They pay a lot but they exploit you. You don't have a career. You have a career but you have to give up your personal life. True? False? Who knows. Finding the truth, for those who want to work in the world of tourism, is difficult: because between those who offer work and those who seek it often do not understand each other. But the work is there, objectively: this is shown by the 300,000 human resources (from hotel directors to managers to staff positions) that tour operators searched for in the just passed summer of 2024 and only partially found. Because tourism is once again an attractive industry for young people, but - in times of Work Life Balance and smart-working - Millennials and Gen Z are wondering whether it is still worth spending Saturdays, Sundays and canonical vacations working in a hotel, tour operator or OLTA. The answer will be provided by young managers, who have chosen to make a career in the industry, and a head-hunter, specialising in the tourism sector, who has always sought out talent and discarded those who do not want to work.
