Gaetano Giunta
Founder of Messina Foundation
He holds a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. in physics. He was a councillor for social policies for the City of Messina in the 1990s and was directly involved in the creation and development of the local social economy cluster (Advanced Social Cluster): he was a founding member of several social economy organizations (social cooperatives, foundations, social enterprises, etc.) and in 2010 was one of the founders of the Messina Community Foundation, becoming its secretary general, a role he held until 2022. He has to his credit 27 scientific publications in the field of thermodynamics and 20 publications on socio-economic issues. He is directly involved in the design and delivery of all development policies promoted by the Foundation, including business support services. Today he is responsible for the development of the Messina Foundation's Strategic Plan and national and international networking.
